```{index} single: Devel::Cover ``` # Devel::Cover ```{pperl-module-badges} Devel::Cover ``` Measure which statements, branches, conditions and subroutines a program ran, and how long each statement took: the collector under Devel::Cover. `perl -MDevel::Cover program` runs the program and writes what it covered to `cover_db`; the `cover` command turns that into a report. `cover -test` does both for a distribution's test suite. ## Synopsis ```sh pperl --cpan Devel::Cover pperl -MDevel::Cover yourprog args cover cover -test ``` This is a native implementation of the XS half of Devel::Cover 1.52 (`Cover.xs`); its modules and the `cover` command are upstream's, installed with `pperl --cpan Devel::Cover`. ## Differences from upstream - While Devel::Cover is loaded, pperl's JIT compiles no loops and gives back those it had compiled: every op runs in the interpreter, so the counts are perl's.
