```{index} single: keepalive (EV::Watcher) ``` ```{index} single: EV::Watcher::keepalive ``` # keepalive Whether the active watcher keeps `EV::run` from returning, and with an argument set it; returns the setting before, 1 or 0. ## Synopsis ```perl my $was = $w->keepalive; $w->keepalive(0); ``` ## Edge cases - `EV::run` returns when no active watcher with keepalive on is left. Turn it off for a watcher that should serve while there is other work but not keep the program waiting - a module's long-lived socket watcher, for one. - New watchers have it on; it can change at any time. ## Differences from upstream Fully compatible with upstream. Covered by `t/81-xs-native/EV/130-upstream-03_keepalive.t`. ## See also - `EV::run` - the loop it concerns
