```{index} single: Encode::JP ``` # Encode::JP ```{pperl-module-badges} Encode::JP ``` `Encode::JP` - the Japanese encodings: `euc-jp`, `shiftjis`, `cp932`, `iso-2022-jp`, `iso-2022-jp-1`, `7bit-jis`, `MacJapanese`, and the raw `jis0201-raw`, `jis0208-raw` and `jis0212-raw` tables. Nothing needs to be loaded: `Encode` loads this module the first time one of its encodings is named, as in `encode('shiftjis', $text)`.
