```{index} single: set_sv_to_null_pdl (PDL) ``` ```{index} single: PDL::set_sv_to_null_pdl ``` # set_sv_to_null_pdl Turn an existing scalar into a null ndarray. PDL::set_sv_to_null_pdl($sv); The scalar is made to refer to a freshly created ndarray with no dimensions and no data, as `PDL->null` returns; whatever it held before is replaced. Deserialisation is what this exists for. `PDL::IO::Storable` gets an empty blessed stub back from `Storable` and needs to make a real ndarray out of it before filling in the dimensions and data.
