from_b64string

Convert text back to a binary UUID.

Also available as Data::UUID::from_hexstring, Data::UUID::from_string.

from_string and from_hexstring take 32 hex digits in either case, with an optional 0x in front and a - allowed before any byte; anything after the 16th byte is ignored, and a string that runs out before it dies “from_string(…) failed…”. from_b64string takes Base64, skipping characters outside it.
